아틀리에 모 디자인은 2017년 설립된 디자인 스튜디오로, 실험적이고 도전적인 디자인을 실천하는 디자인 연구소 같은 공간을 목표로 합니다. ‘아틀리에(Atelier)’는 예술과 스튜디오가 결합된 프랑스어로, 창의적이고 혁신적인 디자인을 탐구하는 장소를 의미합니다.
설립자인 모상규는 서울에서 태어나 대학을 졸업한 후, 건축사무소 예주에서 실무 경험을 쌓았습니다. 이후 해체주의 건축의 기술적 설계를 연구하기 위해 프리폼에서 학습하였고, 싱가포르, 중국, 말레이시아 등지에서 10년간 다양한 프로젝트를 수행하며 경력을 쌓았습니다.
그는 브랜딩, 가구 디자인, 인테리어, 중소형 건축, 도시 마스터플랜까지 아우르는 디자인 전략을 이끌며, 다양한 프로젝트를 통해 종합적인 역량을 갖추었습니다. 이러한 경험을 바탕으로 말레이시아에 첫 사무소를 설립하였으며, 프로젝트의 크기와 유형을 가리지 않고 클라이언트를 깊이 이해하는 것을 최우선으로 합니다.
아틀리에 모 디자인은 단순한 디자인을 넘어, 문제 해결을 위한 실력과 지식을 겸비한 종합 디자인 스튜디오입니다. 클라이언트의 고민을 경청하고, 적극적이고 책임감 있는 해결책을 제시하는 성실하고 겸손한 디자이너가 되는 것을 목표로 합니다.

Atelier Mo Design is a design studio established in 2017, founded with the vision of creating an experimental and innovative design laboratory. The word Atelier is derived from French, meaning a fusion of art and studio, symbolizing a space where creative and bold design ideas are explored and realized.
The founder, Sangkyu Mo, was born in Seoul and graduated from university in Korea. He began his professional journey at the architecture firm Yezu, where he gained valuable experience. To further develop his expertise in deconstructivism architecture and advanced parametric design, he studied at Freeform. Over the past decade, he has worked on a diverse range of projects across Singapore, China, and Malaysia, accumulating extensive experience in branding, furniture design, interior design, small-to-medium-scale architecture, and urban master planning.
With a multidisciplinary background, he established Atelier Mo Design’s first office in Malaysia, aiming to provide comprehensive and strategic design solutions. Regardless of project scale or type, the firm prioritizes deep client understanding and tailors solutions with both expertise and creativity.

Mo Sang Kyu is a Korean design architect who studied Interior Design in the Faculty of Art at HanSung University in South Korea.
He gained extensive experience working at Yezu (Korea), AAMER (Singapore), AA-GAS (Malaysia), and WACA (China), where he collaborated with three co-partner firms on major projects ranging from interior design to master planning over six years.
With this diverse background, he eventually settled in Kuala Lumpur, founding ATELIER MO to establish his ideal design practice.

Siew Yean joined Atelier Mo Design as a consultant in the Marketing, Finance, and Communications department.
Her passion for finance and marketing, combined with her experience in communications, brings valuable expertise to the team. She is responsible for managing Bills of Quantities (BoQ), overseeing construction cash flow, handling social media accounts, developing marketing campaign content, and providing strategic consultation on brand awareness projects.

With extensive experience in construction sites across Malaysia, he plays a pivotal role in identifying and addressing on-site challenges, ensuring the efficient procurement of essential materials and information, and facilitating seamless communication between the construction team and designers. By bridging the gap between design intent and practical execution, he/she contributes to the smooth progression of projects, optimizing workflow efficiency and maintaining the highest standards of quality and precision.
